Web2.0 versus Article Marketing

Last week, I recommended Luke’s SureFire Success System. It’s a membership site that teaches you all about getting web traffic using the web2.0 resources.

Luke has written an excellent short 12 page report, titled “Livin’ la Vida Rico with Web 2.0″

Not quite sure what that means, but I’ve read through it and would prefer to call it:

Web2.0 versus Article Marketing

An excellent quick read. Click on the link above to download. No need to optin to any list.

Excerpts from the report:

  • “Whereas once you paid some firm to submit ong articles you wrote to article directories, now you GET PAID to submit short content pieces to Web 2.0″
  • With an article, you can only link to one site. One Article in one directory links to one site. With Web 2.0 content, you have much more control over the content you place out there, and you can usually submit 3 or more links from it to your own sites!”

But perhaps the more important question is this …

Does it Work?

Take a look at one of my recent sites that I’ve just built.

1 visitor on the 7th March. That’s me, building the site using Wordpress blog. I started promoting the site on the 9th and 10th.

Can you see the surge in visitors?

Google loves the site too, 1902+ visits. See the screenshot below:

Like it or not, Web2.0 is here to stay, and Luke’s SureFire Success System is an excellent
guide, both for newbies and the veterans.

You’re bang on the money (again) - I have to agree that Web 2 stuff is far better (and quicker/easier) then article marketing, and the results come through much quicker. Thanks for the report - was a useful read.

I totally agree. I think alot of article directories are using the nofollow tag also. I’m using squidoo, hubpages, wetpaint, clearblogs, multiply.com, wordpress.com, and many more. Having some great results also. Thanks for the info, as usual your on top of things. By the way, just bought power-rss and absolutely love it.

I always purchase these things to see new techniques and if they work to make money. They are ussually a decent invesment. Most of the stuff in this membership and ebook is good information, but its not new. It has a nice spin on things with all the chess references and the landing page concept being called your “Terminal”, but it is not worth the price. It was written by a young guy with a good idea. Props to him for making some money with it, but the system only works if you write your ass off. I just think there are easier ways to make money with Web 2.0.

  7. Hi Guys,

Thanks for sharing your success stories! Keep it up. I believe when done right (i.e. no spammy stuff), web2.0 marketing will yield tremendous results.

Michael, I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree with you. One does not have to ‘write your ass off’ - only a couple of paragraphs will do.

If you want to write more, you’re most welcome of course. More content, more value to the web visitors/readers.

If case you’ve not seen Luke’s “SSS Circle” tool, that’s where the real value is. As mentioned in my previous email, not even the $1500 membership club I joined last year have this tool.

It allows the members to “digg” each others’ posts in a collaborative and systematic manner. This will enhance and add value to the original post.

Much better than using blackhat stuff (which I see you’re promoting via your url) which will eventually be banned.

Remember guys, web 2.0 stuff is powerful, but we must remember that real people will be reading our posts - so provide real content, real value, and you will be rewarded.

Use blackhat stuff to post spammy stuff, well, I don’t think it will last very long.

Just imagine, if you’re doing a search online, and you ended up on a hubpage site which has spammy content and ads. Would you click through to the author’s site? I don’t think so.

But if that hubpage site provide valueble content, would you click to the author’s site to read more?

    I rest my case.

    Have a great day guys!

I’m going to hit the sack … way past my bedtime ….

    Cheers,
    Adrian

  8. I’m inclined to agree that article marketing is not what it used to be.

During recent months, I have seen the single link in my resource box being deleted within the article directories. I have also noted a big surge in the number of websites that are using my articles as content to produce AdSense income, but they do not include my link.

It seems that the article directories and republishers are the only ones that stand to gain from the time & effort I put into writing articles. It appears that writing articles and submitting them to article directories is no longer worth the time.

With alternative publishing channels, such as squidoo and others, you have much more control over content and links, plus it also seems that you’ll do better with the search engines.

If the current article trends continue, the article directories will eventually become nothing more than ghost towns.

  9. One last comment … I just entered “Surefire Success System” in Google (without quotes).

    It returned over 94,000 results.

Guess which sites are on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd pages?

Yup, nearly 90% of those results are web2.0 sites. An article in EzineArticles is on page 2.

    Folks, this thing works!

    Cheers,
    Adrian
