At the risk of my trusty Windows XP dying on me when I type this … I should think NOT! . A few customers wrote in and ask if they should download Windows 7 Beta now since their Vista “sucks”, my advice is, don’t!
Microsoft isn’t exactly famous for creating ‘bug-free’ software (I hope Windows 7 will change that perception, but I won’t count on it).
If you’re an online marketer, your PC/laptop is your primary tool – do not risk it. If Vista sucks, then consider buying more physical RAM to speed things up, but never ever install a beta Operating System on your business laptop.
I resisted the upgrade to Vista despite all the hype around it when Vista was launched. I’m still using the trusty and I might add ‘speedy’ Windows XP.
Personally, if I ever want to upgrade my operating system, I will wait until Windows 7 has matured and perhaps after service pack 1 or 2 before upgrading.
Remember the golden rule – if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
